The assessment of carbon emissions in the construction sector has evolved into a compulsory endeavor.Within this domain, green buildings play a pivotal role as a principal avenue for carbon mitigation, making the analysis of their carbon footprint critically important. This study focuses on 59 public buildings and 26 residential buildings that have obtained green building certifications.Employing a comprehensive life cycle carbon emission evaluation approach,it delineates and quantifies the carbon emission profiles of green buildings across various stages, star ratings, and functionalities.Based on the carbon emission characteristics of the life cycle of green buildings, the paper advocates for targeted carbon reduction strategies in the design, construction, and operational management phases of green building projects.Such measures are aimed at facilitating the widespread adoption of green buildings and fostering a collaborative approach towards comprehensive carbon minimization.
